RE: SPDD: ADJUSTPRP – SPDD TR to Qas and PRD
I’m always curios and would like to clarify is it 100% safe to use the SPDD TR generated from Development to QAS and subsequently to Production by specifying it in SUM,sub-task ADJUSTPRP?
If i’m not mistaken, by transporting SPDD TR with adjusted modified data dictionary objects in Development will directly written and modify the object in QAS/PRD even the object is not modified in QAS/PRD.
Therefore, what will happen if there are numbers of modified Data Dictionary object existed in Development but not in QAS/PRD? Worse case, by using the TR generated during the first SUM, (from development), we’ll get unintended result where unintended objects in QAS and PRD are modified?
Also, hopefully there’s a program for advance checking on SPDD object, therefore, we can assure numbers of modified objects in Development, QAS, PRD are identical.
yes, sum only complains when the modified object in Qas/Prd are more than development and not Included in the SPDD TR created. However, SUM will not complains if the modified data dictionary object in Development that are adjusted in SPDD TR are more than QAS/PRD, but will just overwrite the non-modify objects in QAS/PRD. This is quite risky.
