RE: Production Process and 3PL
I´m trying to process the following scenario:
The Output Products of the Production Process should be carried to an external (3PL) warehouse directly.
This means the Target Logistics Area of the Production Order/Production Confirmation has to be a Logistics Area of the external warehouse.
By now I haven´t found a performing way to do so, so my question is:
In generall, is it possible to depict this process in ByD directly?
Or do we have to detour and, for example, create a (internal) dummy warehouse and make a stock transfer manually?
Does someone of you know this or a similiar problem and also how to fix it?
I´m very thankful for any answers.
normally only target logistics areas can be used for production order output that are within the same site as the resource. Of course depending on what you need you can also model the external warehouse below the same site, but there might be reasons to maintain a separate site representing the external warehouse. Then the best way to move the goods from the production site to the external warehouse is by stock transfer. By 3PL do you mean that you also use the 3PL interface to a 3PL provider? Then anyway you will not be able to model logistic areasw for the 3PL warehouse. Inventory management is then only on site level.
