RE: Posting Loans in Foreign Currency

      Hi,

      What is best practice in SAP ByDesign when it comes to posting a loan in a Foreign Currency?  We like to ensure at each period end the loan is revalued using the latest exchange rate.

      Hi Lee,   ByD only allows Foreign Currency Re-Measurement for AP, AR and Cash Ledger. Pure G/L transactions in foreign currency do not get revalued in standard.   So - if you want to have the transactions - you can have either a certain "Loans" Bank Account in foreign currency. The balance of the account get revalued when you start the Foreign Currency Re-Measurement (FCRE) for Cash.   Other option: you create a Accounts Payables Account with an open item in Foreign Currency.
