RE: Adding ReportViewer control to an aspx form

So, I got the new Crystal Reports 2016. And I got the runtime, the most recent to be sure, _17.

Added controls to the toolbox — they show as inactive.

Added a line to the .aspx page as follows:

      <%@ Register Assembly=”CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304″ Namespace=”CrystalDecisions.Web” TagPrefix=”xr” %>

Added appropriate references to the project/solution. Everything compiles – until I try to actually use that “xr” prefix for what it’s intended — then it throws design time error.

What am I doing wrong?? Help pls!

Hi Francesca,   I think you have installed only the .NET SDK runtimes (.msi files) on your Visual Studio machine. You need to install the Executable which says "Support Pack 17" from the below link: SAP Crystal Reports developer version for Microsoft Visual Studio - Updates and Runtime Downloads - Business Intelligenc…   Also you do not need to manually add the line: <%@ Register Assembly="CrystalDecisions.Web, Version=13.0.2000.0, Culture=neutral, PublicKeyToken=692fbea5521e1304" Namespace="CrystalDecisions.Web" TagPrefix="xr" %> to your .aspx page, it gets automatically added once you add the Viewer to this page.   Oh.. I checked again, it is not TagPrefix="xr" it should be…

        Hi Francesca,

to your .aspx page, it gets automatically added once you add the Viewer to this page.

Oh.. I checked again, it is not TagPrefix=”xr” it should be TagPrefix=”CR”.

        Try it.

Let me know in case of any queries.

        Regards,

        Vinit
